~ About Me ~
Hi, I’m Caroline and I’m on a mission to help empower people when it comes to their money.
Money management was never discussed growing up, and when I started a minimum wage job during the 2008 financial crisis I assumed that running low (or out of money) would be an ongoing issue in my life.
In 2016, I decided to leave a toxic marriage. I was living paycheck to paycheck in the San Francisco Bay Area, working full time with two small kids, and with all of my credit cards maxed out. I had no idea how I was going to be able to step into this new life chapter but I was beyond determined to change.
One day I wrote out all of my minimum monthly expenses and compared them to my monthly income. While I knew I was living paycheck to paycheck, I discovered that I had an extra $5 of “wiggle room” each pay period. This discovery lit a fire in me, and I was determined to leverage that $5 to work towards a better financial future for me and the kids.
I didn’t even know where to begin, so I started researching “How to budget” online. I found so many resources, but none seemed to understand my situation. After a lot of trial and error, I put together a system that allowed me to maintain a budget in just minutes a day and make progress towards my financial goals.
Within a year, I had paid off over $17,0000 in debt! Learning how to take charge of my finances brought me such a feeling of self-confidence. I knew that if I could figure this out, a world of possibilities would be open to me and my kids. I want nothing more than to help other people feel the same way.
